Gerald B. Toney

Chief / Fisheries Officer (Coordinator)

The Chief makes decisions concerning band related business, community planning and sits on all band committees as a chairperson with voting rights within a quorum. The Chief also has extended duties outside of the community with other bands and band Chiefs or organizations.

Nastasya Kennedy

Elected Councillor / Education Director

The elected council makes decisions concerning band related business or community planning based on a quorum.

The Education Counselor is responsible for providing/locating programs and services designed to assist students in the community who are struggling with academics as well as to assist in the preparation of students for post secondary education.

Monique Holland

Elected Councillor / Social Development Officer

The elected council makes decisions concerning band related business or community planning based on a quorum.

The Social Development Officer is tasked with providing Social Development services and programs to all community members to ensure that they have every opportunity to be successful whether it is through training and education or through assistance with getting the services they need to thrive.

Murray Copage Sr.

Elected Councillor / Director of Infrastructure

The elected council makes decisions concerning band related business or community planning based on a quorum.

Director of infrastructure manages all the community infrastructure, making sure that existing infrastructure is maintained, and the planning for any new infrastructure to be built.

John McCaul

Senior Financial Officer / Economic Development Officer

The Senior Financial Officer is responsible for all financial functions of Annapolis Valley First Nation such as accounting, payments and banking, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.

The Economic Development Officer is available to assist band members and/or Council in Business Development with resources such as planning, funding etc. that are offered to First Nations.

Lisa Toney-Janes

Financial Controller

The Financial Controller is responsible for financial functions of Annapolis Valley First Nation such as accounting, payments, banking, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.

Julie Crossman

Human Resource Manager / Native Employment Officer

The HR Officer leads and directs the routine functions of the human resources department such as hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing Annapolis Valley First Nation policies and procedures.

The Native Employment Officer assists band members in making good career decisions, training or educational choices. Provide labor market information, financial assistance to clients and assists them in identifying the resources they need for skills development/enhancements, life skills, resume writing and job search skills, etc.

Tim Minard

Housing, Infrastructure and Capital Officer

The Housing, Infrastructure and Capital Officer operates within the band office and within the housing construction field. Communicates with Chief and Council on any housing requests that are provided by band members and foresees the issues are taken care of by construction crew or service providers. Sits on the housing committee and votes to make decisions on repairs/housing needs.

Angelica (Chile) Dale

Band Designate

The role of the Band Designate is to be an advocate for the Annapolis Valley First Nation community. They are to receive and respond to notices of a Band member child being taken into care, and work to connect children and families to culturally appropriate programs and community services. They are to work to support reunification and focus on keeping children connected to their family, culture, and community.

Administrative Assistant

The Receptionist is responsible for ensuring that the office runs in an efficient and effective manner by managing the day-to-day operations, such as answering phone, setting up appointments, record and transcribe minutes, filing, maintain equipment etc.

Health Director

The Health Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Health Centre along with long-term planning to provide culturally appropriate community health programs and services.

Community Health Nurse

The Community Health Nurse is responsible for planning and implementing health programs under the leadership of the Health Director.

Terra Riggs

Community Licensed Practical Nurse

The Practical Nurse supports the health team in any capacities needed.
